Elkin: A Trail Town

As Jeff mentioned in a previous post, we have visited Elkin numerous times over the years. And each time it grows dearer to our hearts. I’ve personally never felt more at home anywhere in North Carolina. 

We have truly enjoyed our three days here this time hiking, biking, and paddling. Our home base was right in downtown on the river in Crater Park. And we truly made it home. 

Even with our busy MST schedule, we were able to visit two breweries, a winery, a creamery, several restaurants including my favorite coffee shop, a historic cemetery, and catch a show at the renovated theatre. 

We look forward to our next visit! Meanwhile, we grabbed a local real estate magazine for future consideration...
