If our leaky, mice-ridden cabin was a palace, then the Balsam Mountain Inn has been heaven. Combined with a day trip into Waynesville, our first “zero day” has been blissful and productive with some new/better gear and clean laundry. I feel very sorry for the person who suffered through the latter! And a special shout out to our trail angel, Mary Stewart a fellow MST hiker, who gave us a ride to the Inn!
